Logan Paul’s Pokémon Illustrator Card Sells for Record $16.49M
Logan Paul’s 1998 Pikachu Illustrator Pokémon card has sold for a record $16.49 million USD (about $23.26 million AUD), making it the most expensive trading card ever sold. The auction was handled by Goldin and livestreamed on Paul’s YouTube channel, turning the sale into a global event. The Illustrator card is widely regarded as the rarest and most prestigious Pokémon card ever produced, originally awarded to winners of a 1998 Japanese art contest. Paul’s copy, graded PSA 10, is considered the only one in perfect condition. The sale marks a major milestone for the trading card hobby, cementing Pokémon’s place alongside fine art and elite sports memorabilia in the world of high-value collectibles.
